Shu Sun

Shu Sun is a PhD student in the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture at UW–Madison and a graduate of Texas A&M University with a master’s degree in landscape architecture. Her research focuses on microclimate design and its implications for public health, with a particular emphasis on creating resilient and equitable urban environments for older adults. By utilizing advanced tools like ArcGIS, climate modeling, and environmental data analysis, she aims to develop design strategies that optimize urban microclimates to improve thermal comfort and health outcomes for vulnerable populations, particularly in the face of climate change. Her goal is to contribute to urban spaces that are not only sustainable but also supportive of older adults’ health and well-being.
