CARE helps prepare the nursing workforce for care of older adults by:

Promoting opportunities for in-depth learning about older adult health within undergraduate and graduate curricula
Fostering innovation and scholarship to develop cutting-edge tools and resources for teaching gerontology
Collaborating with providers of acute, post-acute and community-based services to expand practice sites for students
Organizing community events where nursing students engage with and provide health information to older adults
Holding campus events to increase interest in geriatrics among students pursuing nursing and allied health fields
Working with community organizations to allow nursing and other students to contribute to healthy aging efforts
