CARE Seeks Students for Advisory Committee

Are you passionate about supporting older adult health and well-being? Do you want to make professional connections with local providers and community leaders? Are you looking for a leadership position to build your resumé?

The School of Nursing’s Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) is seeking one first-year Nursing undergraduate student (junior standing) and one graduate student in any discipline to join the CARE advisory committee.

The students chosen will:

  • Attend one CARE advisory committee meeting per semester and take part in related discussions
  • Work with community leaders and experts in the field of older adult health
  • Provide student perspectives on CARE’s priorities and activities
  • Join two continuing student members of the advisory committee, a senior-year Nursing undergraduate student and Nursing PhD student
  • Serve as a liaison with the student Geriatric Interest Group (for the Nursing undergraduate student)

This is an excellent opportunity for students to collaborate with leaders in health-related fields and gain insights about how education, research, and scholarship benefit practice. Applicants should be interested in older adult health and confident in their communication abilities.

To apply, write a short paragraph about why you are interested and send it along with your resumé to Diane at farsetta@wisc.edu. References and statements of support are welcome but not necessary. The deadline to apply is Wednesday October 9.

CARE supports discoveries that improve aging, and builds the skills and capacity of those who care for older adults.
