Geri-Res

Research shows that nurse residency programs improve nurse retention, lower costs and improve nurse preparedness for safe and competent practice. CARE developed a nurse residency program tailored specifically to nursing in the long-term care practice environment, called Geri-Res.

Geri-Res addresses the transition-to-practice gap often experienced by both new graduates and experienced nurses entering a long-term care practice setting. Organizations using Geri-Res immediately begin to see improvements in nurse knowledge, confidence, and job satisfaction.

The Geri-Res curriculum has tracks for nursing home, assisted living, and home health settings. The Geri-Res Nurse Resident course is available for Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses/ Licensed Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs). Geri-Res also leverages a mentor/mentee model to create the best learning environment for new nurse success. Experienced nurses prepare for the mentor role with six Clinical Coach modules.

CARE is partnering with Pathway Health to offer Geri-Res to providers. Follow the links on this page for more information.
