Wan-chin Kuo
Wan-chin Kuo, RN, PhD is a postdoctoral research associate with the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Nursing. Her work seeks to understand how stress influences middle-aged and older adults’ 24-hour activity cycle and cardiometabolic health.
“Chronic stress could be a double-edged sword, accelerating negative aspects of the aging process while potentially stimulating resilience,” says Kuo. “We cannot build a stress-free world. Yet, unveiling human behavioral and physiological responses to stress will allow nurses to develop personalized treatment plans that help our older patients recognize their strengths and manage their cardiovascular risk factors.”
